The role played by Bio Gas Plant in managing 3R’s for biodegradable waste

The initiative of the 3Rs of waste management was developed in the early 2000s, serving as a method to assist everyone in reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills or incineration and to diminish the production of unnecessary items. These principles, known as Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, are crucial for efficient waste management and play a significant role in combating climate change. It has been observed that the 3Rs are consistently articulated in the sequence of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. This specific order is strategically prioritized to optimize the reduction of waste and greenhouse gas emissions most effectively. The methodology encourages the initial step of minimizing waste production and curbing the purchase of non-essential items. Should an acquisition be necessary, the next course of action is to find a secondary use for the item at the end of its original lifecycle. Recycling is considered the final alternative when reuse is not feasible. Despite being the last resort, recycling remains an integral element of the strategy, conserving natural resources and preventing over 700 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually through this process.
